Practicing reading with a large group of students can be difficult! Assigning Reading Roles to students can be a great way to give students a task while reading to help them focus. Teachers can break up their class into smaller groups. Each student in the smaller group has a specific role or task to accomplish while they are reading. Here are the roles and their tasks!

These Reading Roles can be modified to fit the specific needs of your class! After reading, students can share their role and task with other members of the group. To extend this lesson, each group can share their findings to the rest of the class.
